Raja Ampat Budget Diving

DIVE RAJA AMPAT
The last paradise....
The"Last Paradise"
Welcome to Raja Ampat, one of the final frontiers of scuba diving. Someone once described Kri Island to me as the last paradise and I cannot think of a more fitting accolade.

Once you discover this place you have found the "last paradise" and will return again and again.

I'm a veteran of over five hundred dives and have dived all over the world, seeking the best diving. My travels have taken me to Australia, Fiji, Tonga, Malaysia (Sipidan), Thailand (Similan Rock, Koh Tao), Mozambique (Tofu, Zavora), Belize (Caye Caulker,Glovers Reef), Mexico (Cozumel, Cenotes), Honduras (Roatan, Utila), Ecuador/Galapagos (Wolf, Darwin), Azores (Ambrosia), South Africa (Sodwana Bay, Aliwal Shoal, Umkomaas), Palau (Two Liveaboards), French Polynesia (South Pass, Rangiroa), Philippines (seven visits, dived everywhere worth diving apart from Tubbataha), Indonesia (seven or eight trips, Two Komodo Liveaboards, Lembeh, Bali, Bunaken and then finally Raja Ampat four times)

"Seek and you shall find."
I found it.

Raja Ampat is the only place I have visited more than twice and I will keep going back.
Of course French Polynesia, Palau and The Galapagos beat R4 for shark encounters, they are incredible destinations but for all round quality, bio-diversity, huge schools of fish, variety of macro / big fish, coral, relaxation and tranquillity.......

Nothing compares to R4, Raja Ampat.

Visiting Raja Ampat
If you are visiting Raja Ampat then why not stay at the original and still the premier homestay in Raja Ampat?
Yenkoranu homestay on Kri Island, right in the middle of the Dampier Straight where all action is and has by far the best jetty in R4. The Dampier Straight is the heart of Raja Ampat where all the famous dive sites like Blue Magic, Sardine Reef, Chicken Reef and the mighty Cape Kri are to name a few of the truly stunning dive sites you can discover.

The homestays provide modest, comfortable accommodation in a world class location, you dive the same reefs as the luxury resorts that charge an absolute minimum of €1,300 for seven days accommodation with no diving / €2,000 with diving to upwards of €4,000 for seven days including diving.

Your trip with Raja Ampat Budget Diving will cost a fraction of that and you will have an authentic experience, staying with local people, experiencing local culture, eating local food and diving with local guides. The homestays are proudly Papuan owned, managed and staffed by Papuan's providing you with a truly authentic Papuan experience.

Visiting a remote location like West Papua can be a daunting endeavour.
I hope this website can provide you with the information that you need to embark on the dive trip of a lifetime.
I am also happy to help with any questions you may have which are not answered on the site.
